PT Santan Batubara

SBB is a limited liability company duly established under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia in 1998 engaged in the coal mining business. It is a party to 3rd Generation Coal Contract of Work (CCoW), which commenced its coal mining operations in 2008.

SBB’s commercial operation was started in Separi block and currently, SBB carries out its mining operation in Uskap block.

PT Bumi Karunia Pertiwi

BKP is a limited liability company duly established in 2005 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in the coal mining business. BKP carries out its coal mining business activities pursuant to its Mining Business License (IUP) Operation Production which was issued in 2009.  HE acquired BKP in 2018 to become the majority shareholder in BKP.

PT Karya Usaha Pertiwi

KUP is a limited liability company duly established in 2005 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in the coal mining business. KUP carries out its coal mining business activities pursuant to its Mining Business License (IUP) Operation Production which was issued in 2010, with a mine area adjacent to MSJ and SBB' mine area.  HE acquired shares in KUP in 2013 and became the holder of 50.5% shares in KUP.  

KUP started its commercial coal mining operation in 2018.

PT Mahakam Sumber Jaya

MSJ is a limited liability company duly established in 1996 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in the coal mining business. It is a party to 3rd Generation Coal Contract of Work (CCoW), which commenced its coal mining operations in 2004.

MSJ operation is supported by the relatively close proximity of the mine area and the processing facility with the approximate distance of 45 km. Coal barge loading through MSJ’s port in Separi can also be accessed via a special hauling road managed by MSJ.

PT Position

POS is a limited liability company duly established in 2017 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in nickel ore mining business. POS has a license to develop a designated mining area in East Halmahera, North Maluku pursuant to a Mining Business Licence for Metal Mineral. 

POS constitutes one of HE’s nickel business portfolio held through THN. THN acquired 51% shares in POS in 2021.

PT Infei Metal Industry

IMI is a limited liability company duly established in 2022 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in the nickel processing and refining business. IMI constitutes one of HE’s nickel business portfolio held through THN.

IMI owns and operates a nickel smelter located in the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park, North Maluku Province consisting of 2 rotary kiln electric furnace lines with an installed annual production capacity of 28,000 ton of nickel contained in nickel pig iron and has been operating commercially since April 2022

PT Westrong Metal Industry

WMI is a limited liability company duly established in 2021 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in the nickel processing and refining business. WMI constitutes one of HE’s nickel business portfolio held through HNI.

WMI owns and operates a nickel smelter located in the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park, North Maluku Province, consisting of 4 rotary kiln electric furnace lines including supporting infrastructure and converter facilities to produce high-grade nickel-matte with an installed annual production capacity of up to approximately 56,000 ton of nickel contained in high-grade nickel-matte product.  

WMI started commercial production since early 2024.

PT Blue Sparking Energy

BSE is a limited liability company duly established in 2022 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in the nickel processing and refinery business. BSE constitutes one of HE’s nickel business portfolio held through THN.

BSE is currently developing a High-Pressure Acid Leaching (“HPAL”) project located in the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park in Central Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province.  The HPAL project of BSE is designed to produce nickel-cobalt hydroxide intermediate product (MHP – Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate) with an annual installed production capacity of approximately 67,000 ton (±10%) of nickel equivalent and approximately 7,500 ton (±10%) of cobalt, together with its supporting facilities and infrastructure.  

Currently, BSE project is still in a construction stage, and is targeted to commence commercial operation in early 2026.

Nickel Industries Limited

NIC is a corporation established under Australian laws. As part of its business expansion into nickel industry, HE invested in NIC shares, a company with a portfolio of business in nickel mining, processing and refining in Indonesia.  NIC' shares is listed in the Australian Stock Exchange.

PT Sunny Metal Industry

SNMI is a limited liability company duly established in 2021 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and is engaged in the nickel processing and refinery business. SNMI constitutes one of HE’s nickel business portfolio invested through THN.

SNMI owns and operates a nickel smelter located in the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park, North Maluku Province, consisting of 4 rotary kiln electric furnace lines including infrastructure and converter facilities to produce nickel pig iron with annual nameplate production capacity of approximately 55,000 ton of contained nickel equivalent metal (Ni) in the form of nickel pig iron. 

SNMI has started its commercial production since early 2023.

PT Layar Lintas Jaya

LLJ is a limited liability company duly established under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia in 2004 engaged in the business of shipping, which include various activities such as short ocean transport and river-to-ocean transport between Indonesian ports using different vessel types including tugboats and barges.
