Harum Energy provides logistic services covering mainly East Kalimantan’s waters

Harum Energy provides shipping logistic services through its subsidiary, PT Layar Lintas Jaya (LLJ). LLJ operates the transportation of commodities within Indonesian waters. In the current operation, LLJ provides logistic services using tugboats and barges covering mainly East Kalimantan’s waters.

LLJ’s logistic business plays an important role in the integrated production chain, particularly for Harum Energy’s coal business. As common in Indonesia, Harum Energy’s mining areas are not directly connected to deep water ports, where large vessels can dock, hence LLJ’s logistic business serves as intermediate hubs where commodities is transferred from smaller vessels to larger vessels. Such integration with logistic services alleviates transportation challenges as bulk commodities need efficient and cost-effective means of reaching global markets, which ultimately allows Harum Energy to maintain its operational efficiency.
